Laziness, and ... Laziness

Wow, not much to write about today. It was a very uneventful Sunday. I didn't even get out of bed until after 11:00, then I had my bowl of cereal and watched part of a Law and Order: SVU marathon. Tim woke up around 3:00, and we were lazy some more. We watched the NASCAR race while I made goulash and cheesy bread for dinner. After Tim left for work, I decided to watch a chick flick. Something that he would never want to watch -- Eat, Pray, Love was my pick, and it was very good! I had to take Dixie outside to play with the tennis ball launcher so that she could burn off some steam. She was driving me crazy with wanting outside every 5 minutes. My plan must have worked, because she is totally sacked out on the couch right now. I have got the dishwasher loaded up and running, I'm in the process of vacuuming the floors (I needed a break, so I am writing now, but I'll finish that when I'm done with this), and I am going to attempt to fold some laundry before I call it quits for the night. I have a busy day tomorrow, but Tim will be home tomorrow night, and we should have a Netflix movie to watch -- Yay! Well, I wasn't kidding when I said I didn't have much to write about. I'm going to sign off for the night. Everyone have a good Monday!   :^)

Snow? Really?

The weather is crappy -- Which means that I haven't done much of anything the last two days. The only good thing about bad weather is that I don't feel bad about laying around. I have gotten caught up on naps and reading today. I can't believe that there is snow on the ground right now! I wore flip flops on Tuesday for crying out loud. What the hell!! I'm about the drive to Pennsylvania and get me a groundhog -- "Spring is coming early" -- What a load of bull. Come on, It's almost April and it's snowing? Sounds just like Spring to me (say that with a sarcastic voice, please) -- Ugh! Talk about stupid. I've heard the saying "If you don't like the weather in Indiana, wait til tomorrow and it will change." Well, this is me not liking the weather, so it can change any time it wants.

Friday was a great day. I wore my red polo and my blue jeans in celebration of Red Friday and Jean Day at the office. It's by far my favorite day of the week. My morning was booked with five massages. I got to catch up with some of my favorite clients. After finishing up at the office, I had some errands to run in town, then I was headed home for the weekend. Tim's new turkey vest was in at the Sportsman's Mall and I had to pick up a new oven element for Mom. After grabbing a bite of lunch, Tim and I went out in the yard and sighted in the scopes on our shotguns. Turkey season is less than a month away! My trigger finger is getting itchy. Come on April 27th!

After getting Tim sent off to work with the leftover enchiladas from the night before, I fell asleep on the couch for a couple hours. Man that's lazy, but I was exhausted from the busy, busy week I had. I woke up from my nap with a second wind and went up to Mom's to help her finish up the feeding and deliver her new oven element. She is weaning the goat kids and it wasn't going well. They didn't really get the concept of an electric fence, so there was a lot of BAAAAH-ing going on. I stuck around to fix supper and watch some TV with them. I may not live at home anymore, but I still love spending time with Momma and Pop. I tend to stay for longer than I should, but I just can't seem to help myself. I thought about taking the time to blog last night before bed, but I was tired and it was late, so I decided to crash out.

Is it bad that the best part about getting Tim's turkey vest is that it came in a big box? Chuck hasn't stopped playing in it since we gave it to him. We are constantly on "box alert," because he loves them so much. It cracks me up because Dixie can't figure out where he goes when he is playing in it, then she freaks out when he jumps out at her. I have done pretty much nothing today. I slept in a little bit this morning, then had some Captain Crunch for breakfast (It's my favorite from when I was a kid, and Dixie and Chuck love getting the milk when I'm done). I was invaded while trying to take a shower by my water-loving cat. He has been taking it to a whole new level lately -- He usually gets in the shower BEFORE I do. I think I'm going to bring some cat shampoo with me tomorrow and try to actually give him a bath. He gets wet all the way to his skin, so it shouldn't be too hard. What a weird cat! I really do think he might be part dog! Dix and Chuck were both outside playing in the yard this morning (Chuck finished the other half of the mouse that he left on the back step last night). When I yelled at them to come inside, they BOTH came running. He comes when he is called! How about them apples? Bet you don't have a cat that does that. I was looking at old pictures of Dixie and Chuck on my computer today and I just have to share my favorites with you:

This is a picture of my beautiful baby girl the day after we got her. I will always love that fat little puppy face. I don't know what I would do without her in my life.

This is Chuck on the night that we found him in the cornfield. Tim had to work that night, so I was left to defend myself against the demon kitten. Do you know how hard it was to give this thing a bath? Look at those EARS!

So now, I am in my spot on the couch. I listened to the Hatchets play on the radio (Congrats), then watched My Best Friend's Girl, which is the first movie that Tim and I went to see in theaters when we started dating. It has some sentimental value to me for that reason, but it's a funny movie as well. I just finished watching the Roast of Donald Trump on Comedy Central. I haven't laughed that much in ages. He says he might run for President?! I'm not sure how I feel about that. I know we need a change, but I'll have to think on that some more before I make a final judgment. Norm McDonald is on now, so I guess I'll be up for a while longer, but I'm going to wrap up this post for the evening. My babies are asleep in their usual spots. The house is peaceful and quiet. Tomorrow is Sunday. I have GOT to get some things done around the house. I will do my best! Good Night!   :^D

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Oh my Good Lord -- I am so behind on blogging. I have been very busy the last few days and haven't really had time to think, much less put those thoughts on paper (or a computer screen). I will do my best to share everything, but Tim is home tonight and supper is on the table, so I won't spend too much time doing it.

Tuesday at the office was great. I was busy in the morning working on paperwork and the filing project, then my afternoon was booked up with massage appointments. A good solid day. After work, I hurried home so that Dixie and I could go for a run. She has totally figured out that she LOVES running, which is good motivation for me to run -- And I need that motivation to help me get back in shape. I'm tired of being "squishy". I found the best thing ever when I got back to the house. I completely missed it when I was getting ready for our run, but when I got back, it definitely made my week! Tim is the sweetest, most romantic boyfriend in the whole wide world. He may not wash dishes or make the bed, but he made up for about a years worth of bad habits with this:

I immediately called him to tell him just how awesome he is, then I called Mom, then I sent it the picture to Facebook so everyone would know how great he is. He even took Dixie outside with a glass of water so that he could make the muddy paw print! I LOVE HIM!!

After gathering up our dirty clothes, I went to Mom's to do our laundry. Chuck decided that he wanted to go too, and just bailed into the car. I had to fish him back out and put him in the house to make sure that he didn't tag along. I really, really do believe that he thinks he is a dog. We watched Top Shot and caught up on things. Mom had stew made for supper, and I got all my laundry done. It was a very, very good day, but by the time I got home the bed was calling my name and I didn't argue. I was asleep by the time my head hit the pillow.

Wednesday is usually my busiest day. Yesterday was way beyond busy! I had a busy, productive morning running the front desk, then came back in the afternoon and did 5 massages. I ran a ton of errands over lunch, so I didn't really stop until I made it home. There was no rest for the wicked, however, because Tim's family was coming up for dinner. Josh needed some sewing done on his baseball pants. We made burgers, mac and cheese, and fries. Josh's pants were easy to fix, but we chatted for quite a while. Once they were headed back south, Tim and I were headed to bed.

Today, I was busier than yesterday -- And that's saying something. I am going to be ready to chill out this weekend. I have lots of things to try to get done, but I'm not making any guarantees. The phone rang like crazy, I was working on all kinds of things in the office, and I spent most of the morning trying to sort out an insurance problem. The weather was crappy (come on, 40 degrees, really?), so I ate my lunch in the office and worked some more. We had one heck of a staff meeting -- lots and lots of stuff to go over -- then I had a full schedule of massages this afternoon. I feel like I haven't stopped since I rolled out of bed this morning. I just made some really awesome enchiladas for supper, and Tim and I are watching Faster. I am going to be so ready for bed. Thank God tomorrow is Friday. It's Jean Day (YES!) and Red Friday, so I will be supporting my beloved brother. My secret project is going well. The due date on it is Wednesday of next week. I'll fill you in on it then. Our water in the house is looking much better -- We now have a filter on the water line. You should have seen the old one -- It was CLOGGED up with iron sediment. I had to take a picture just to document it:

Isn't that ridiculous?? No wonder our water was rusty!

I took several other pictures of Dixie that day because the lighting was really pretty. I'll share them with you before I say goodnight:

I like this one best -- She's not very photogenic, and it looks like she is wearing the watering can as a hat

She looks sad -- Or thoughtful

Again with the face -- I love that face!

I decided to throw in a couple other pictures that I had on my camera. I just couldn't resist. Sharing these things is what makes blogging fun.

The one on the left is Tim's new "Killer B" decoy -- The one on the right is his old one. It took quite a beating last year when his gobbler attacked it, so he upgraded.

This is one of the fish that Tim caught last week. Not too shabby for an early Spring bass.

Now it's time to say good night -- "Good Night!"   :^)

Yeah TOAST! French TOAST!

Today was a great Monday; if such a thing exists. Tim and I woke up early and went to Mom's to listen for turkeys at sunrise. There were turkeys EVERYWHERE! I cannot wait until April 27th when season comes in. As we were walking back to the house, Chuck was tormenting a field mouse in the driveway. The mouse got even though and bit him on the lip. He got down to business after that, and the mouse died shortly afterwards. I made French Toast for breakfast. It wasn't the best I've ever eaten, but it was my first time making it on my own, so I think it was just dandy. French Toast is one of my favorite foods, maybe even my favorite. YUM!

After breakfast, we were lazy for the rest of the morning. I didn't have to be at work until 3:30, so we had plenty of time to kill. We had a great morning. Dixie and Chuck were still in rare form. There was a lot of running and rough housing in our house. Tim even got involved in the fun, but they play hard and he is usually the one that gets maimed in some way. Today, he made it through unscathed. Nothing of consequence happened this morning, and nothing productive was accomplished. Yup -- Good morning.

Finally, it was time to head to work. I only had two massages today, which is super slow in comparison to a typical day, but it was kinda nice to have an easy day. After my two appointments, I made a trip to Subway to get a sandwich for Tim's supper. After getting my good-night kiss, I headed for home. There was just enough daylight left for a quick run with Dixie. She loves it almost as much as I do. I'm so glad that Tim taught her well. It makes it much more enjoyable to know that she will do what I tell her to. One good, blood pumping run later, I plopped down on the couch. I am watching a movie and messing around on the computer. I have a project that I am working on, but it's a secret so I'll tell you about it when I get it finished. For now, Good night! Have a great Tuesday! I know I will!! I just hope my Sammie feels better by tomorrow. She is feeling sickly, and I really missed seeing her today.   :^)

Jason Clutter!!

Friday was a great day! I wound up with 4 massages that morning, so even though I took a day off last week, my hours didn't really suffer too terribly much. After finishing up my massages, I stuck around a little while to chat with Sammie. I don't usually get to see her on Fridays, so I just can't resist chatting with her when I do. Tim went fishing with Travis Friday afternoon, so I had the house to myself for a few hours. Now, my plan was to do some tidying up, but I wound up getting engrossed in my book and before I knew it, Tim was headed home and I needed to figure out something for supper. I didn't want to cook, Tim didn't want to cook, so I went to the Fish and Carry to pick up supper -- and that was the best idea I had all day. It was delicious! Tim had been awake for way too many hours, so he crashed out on the couch shortly after sitting down. I was watching the second Harry Potter movie, but once it was over, I transferred Tim to the bedroom and we got a good, long night's sleep. We were both really overdue.

Saturday was THE DEFINITION of a lazy day. Tim and I got up fairly early, but we were still able to sleep in til about 9:00. We made burgers for lunch, then spent the afternoon laying on the couch watching NCIS and catching up on our chill out time. I read quite a bit, but that is really all we got accomplished. Last night, we went down to the 4 Seasons in Washington to see Jason Clutter play some country music. He put on one heck of a show! He ain't bad looking either, but don't tell Tim that. They both have the cowboy thing going on, and every girl with hormones LOVES a man in tight jeans, cowboy boots, and a cowboy hat. I sure do love my country boy! We had a great time listening to music and enjoying a couple drinks. I'm sure that was the smallest crowd that Jason Clutter has had in years. He grew up with Tim's cousin Adam, so we kinda had a small town connection to the entertainment. Anyway, we had an absolute blast last night.

My plans for Sunday are not too productive either. Tim and I ate leftovers for lunch (YES, no cooking again), then went to get his ground blind. Dixie loves running around the woods; there are so many smells and so many things to see. Next, I'm headed to Washington with Mom and Grandma Teddi for my cousin Sara's bridal shower. Should be a fun afternoon, but I'll be ready to get back home. The only other things I need to work on today is possibly vacuuming and sweeping the floors. I need to get some laundry done, but I don't think it's going to happen today. I have really enjoyed our lazy weekend. Tomorrow is Monday. No one really likes Monday's, but you can't stop em from happening. Oh well, just gotta make the best of it.   :^)

HELLO Spring!

Ugh, I'm way behind on blogging again. I've been so busy lately, and by the time I get shut down in the evenings, I'm just ready for bed. I'll try to get you caught up to speed -- It's not going to be easy.

Tuesday afternoon, I was able to fill up the empty spot in my massage schedule and have a full day. It's nice that my people keep me busy. I like being busy. After finally making it home after work, I made lasagna and Texas toast for dinner. While the lasagna was cooking, Grandma and Grandpa came down to finish up some plumbing work in the basement. We got rid of some unnecessary pipes and changed the filter on the whole house filter. You would not believe how much rust was caked into that thing! It was ridiculous! I bet that helps with our water situation quite a bit. I sure hope so anyway.

After dinner, Tim fell asleep on the couch while I watched our shows on the History Channel. He has been working like crazy lately and not getting much sleep at all -- So, when he sleeps, I let him sleep. I went to bed after Top Shot was over, and slept like a champ. The only problem we had was that Dixie was being clingy, and we had to fight her for bed space. Sometimes, our bed just isn't big enough.

Wednesday was a very busy, very good day. I was productive in the morning at the front desk, even though we had patients in and out all morning. After lunch, my day was completely booked with 5 massages. By the time I finished up the last one, I was totally worn out. Five massages in one day is completely do-able, but it sure does wear me out. I have to make sure that I get a good night's sleep or else I risk burning my candle at both ends. Burn out is common among massage therapists, but I still love, love, LOVE my job -- So I think I'm okay.

Wednesday evening, I helped Grandma and Grandpa finish up the plumbing stuff in the basement, then Dixie and I went for a run. The weather has inspired me to exercise more -- Hooray for motivation! I need to try to tone down some of the squishy-ness and get back into shape. Momma stopped by a little later that evening to have a look at my vacuum. It hasn't been working at all, and I was debating buying a new one because I couldn't get it working. I figured that I had a plugged filter or something, but it turns out the whole thing was backed up with dog hair and dirt. No wonder it wasn't sucking up anything. We spent about a half hour getting it unclogged. Now I have clean floors again. Having a Lab means that I have to deal with hair -- Lots and lots of hair. Chuck sheds quite a bit too, but nothing like Dixie does. Her hair (and mine; I shed too) is everywhere. Other than that, I didn't do much the rest of the night and went to bed early after reading for a little while. I wasn't working the next day, but I needed to be up early for a dentist appointment.

Today (Thursday) was my day off from work. I don't take very many days off, but I needed to go to the dentist so I took advantage of a good excuse to play hooky. I had my 6 month cleaning appointment at 9:00 and then I had three fillings replaced and one repaired. I dread going to the dentist, but I love my dentist. He does such a great, great job. He made sure that I was good and numb before he started working on me. The shots are always the worst part anyway, but nothing can ever be as bad as last Spring when I had my wisdom teeth pulled and they gave me 12 shots! I only had three shots today, so that wasn't so bad. My mouth got REALLY numb though; I couldn't even talk because my tongue was useless. The numbness went all the way up my face to my cheekbone. I was still a little numb four hours later! Have you ever tried eating or drinking when your face is numb? It's not a pretty thing.

After my trip to the dentist (It wasn't that bad really), I spent the day piddling around the house. I washed a load of dishes and tidied up the basement a bit, but I also read quite a bit and relaxed. That's what days off are for anyway. The weather was nice, but it was very windy outside today. I opened the windows of the house to let in some of that nice Spring air. I'm so looking forward to the weekend! We are supposed to have great weather for the next several days. About dang time!

I think it's about time for bed. I am working tomorrow morning, then I'm free for the weekend. Tomorrow is Jean Day and Red Friday. I will be wearing red in support of Dwain (and jeans because they are comfortable). I can't wait to see his face again, and I am so proud of him. I will be wearing red every Friday until he comes home for good. Okay, time to round up everyone and hit the hay. It's past time for some shut eye! Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!  :^)

That Groundhog Was FULL OF IT!

What an absolutely BLAH day! I'm sick to death of this gloom and doom weather we are having. That dumb groundhog should be fired!  "Spring is coming early this year" -- What a bunch of malarkey! Please, please, please let the sun shine soon. My sanity can't take much more!

The last two days have been pretty average. The time change is kicking my butt, but I'll get used to it. Waking up at what used to be 5:30 was murder this morning though. Yesterday at work, I had a full schedule of 5 massages then I was headed home for the day. I made nachos for supper, and Tim and I went to bed early. Very typical of a Monday. I still need to figure out what's going on with my vacuum cleaner (for some reason it's not picking anything up), but I can work on that some other time.

My afternoon today looks pretty good. I have one opening, but I have made a couple calls so I hope that it fills up. I'm taking a day off this week, so I would like the hours. I've been working all morning on the filing cabinet project, but the phone has been ringing like crazy so I haven't gotten a good run at it. I'm headed to lunch next, then back for our staff meeting at 1:00.

Tim is going to be home this evening, so we are going to enjoy a nice evening on the couch. Our next Netflix movie should be in the mailbox, and Top Shot and Larry the Cable Guy's Only in America are on tonight. Should be a great evening! I might even get creative for supper -- Who knows? Guess you will find out tomorrow. This is all the time I have today for blogging. I'm a busy girl!   :^)

Goodbye Winter Feet -- Hello Spring!

I don't really feel motivated enough to write much tonight -- So this will not take long. It's been a busy weekend, and I'm really enjoying having a lazy day. Besides, that's what Sundays are for.

Yesterday, I went on a trip to Vincennes with Momma and Caitlin. They wanted to stop at the Yarn Shop (ugh, knitters lol), but Dwain called me while we were there so I talked to him instead of shopping for yarn -- I'm not much of a knitter; I prefer to sew. We wound up talking for over an hour. It always makes my day to talk to him. He usually does most of the talking, and part of it is over my head, but I don't care one bit. I'm so proud of him.

After the yarn shop, we got some Hardee's for lunch then went to Classy Nails for pedicures. It felt so good to get rid of my winter feet. I would have gotten a manicure as well, but I figured the cut on my finger would sting a little bit, so I passed. Now, my toes are pretty and pink -- Just in time for Spring. One more stop at Rural King and we were headed back to Washington. After dropping Caitlin off, we went to Subway so I could get a sandwich for Tim's supper. Finally, we were headed for home. My next chore was to help Mom with her feeding and work on some laundry. I got all but one load done, and we watched the new Robin Hood movie with Russell Crowe. I also texted Dwain for most of the night -- He was being his usually Dwain-y self. I was so tired when I finally made it home and into bed -- I crashed almost immediately.

I slept in this morning for a little while -- Not too long, and then took a nice, hot shower -- Complete with an appearance from Chuck. Tim evidently fell asleep watching a Primos turkey hunting video, so I sent him to bed so he would be more comfortable. I then spent a good deal of the afternoon reading and watching River Monsters on TV. I did spend a little time outside working on the porch -- It was really dirty -- So, I feel good about that.

After making supper and helping Tim cut his hair, I got him sent off to work. Now, I'm parked on the couch again. I need to run up to Mom's to finish that last load of laundry and run the vacuum over our floors. Chuck and Dixie are both shedding like crazy and there is hair everywhere. Other than that, I don't plan on doing anything productive the rest of the evening. I'm going to thoroughly enjoy the rest of my weekend. It's back to work tomorrow -- Back to busy-ness!   :^)

Happy Birthday Grandpa Marvin

My plan to go to bed early last night failed miserably. Tim and I made a pizza for supper -- at 10:00 -- then watched The Sorcerer's Apprentice. By the way, Nicholas Cage has got an inner nerd that he gets in touch with in that movie. It's a great movie, but he takes the wizard idea way too seriously. I bet he had fun making the movie though. We finally went to bed at about 1:00! I definitely didn't want to get out of bed this morning, but Friday's are usually pretty easy for me.

Today turned out to be a shorter day than usual at the office. I only had 3 massages, so I was done with that by 11:00. Then, I worked on some paperwork and such for about an hour, but I was headed out the door for the weekend by 12:00, which was totally awesome. I went to see Miss Holly of Hair by Holly to get the caterpillars that were growing in place of my eyebrows taken care of. I am usually pretty handy with the tweezers, but sometimes you just need some professional help. I made another trip to Wal-Mart for a couple things, and placed an order at the Sportsman's Mall for Tim's turkey vest. Finally, I was headed home. Tim had lunch waiting on me when I got home -- So wonderful of him. He is the best.

After a quick nap, I was headed out the door again. This time I was going to North Daviess to help out with an open gym. Coach Burkhart is having me help the hitters and blockers, but they had softball practice today so there weren't that many girls there. It is always fun to play though, even if it's just for an hour. I'm hoping to keep helping them over the summer. I miss playing so much -- Someday when my schedule is more flexible, I will be a coach. I can't wait til that day.

After open gym, I got Tim sent off to work. Today wasn't over yet, however. Tonight was my Grandpa Marvin's birthday party -- So, after a quick shower, I was headed up the hill to Grandma's House. Dinner was great, but the guests weren't really from my generation. I still had a really good time, even though the conversations were more about grandkids, winter trips to Florida, and Weight Watchers than anything I usually talk about. Poor Dixie was really upset with me for leaving her at home by herself though, and she was really glad to see me when I finally made it home. I was really glad to just be home. It was a very long day, and it feels awesome to be sitting on the couch in my PJ's. Chuck and Dixie are already sleeping, and I will be joining them shortly. I have big plans to be productive this weekend. We will see just how much I get done. For now, I'm going to be lazy. Good night!  :^)

Grandma Sara's Doggie Daycare

The plan for this morning was to work on some things that needed done in the office -- Change of plans: I made an awesome brochure to promote massage therapy. It is totally freaking amazing, but I got a little bit too carried away. The over-achiever in me kicked into overdrive. I suppose that still counts as a productive morning, but there are some things that I am gonna have to finish up tomorrow before I call it a week.

Tim took me out for lunch at Mi Pueblo today. How awesome is that? He is so good to me. I ate entirely too much and was miserable for the rest of the day, but it was delicious! After lunch, I had a full schedule of 5 massages. My first one was a new patient. She was upset after the massage, because she didn't get an "hour" massage. It's my fault for not explaining to her that I have to allow time between appointments to get my table ready and complete my notes, but when you are at least 10 minutes late, I think you should expect your massage to be a little shorter. Not much I could have done differently, but she still complained about it. She was totally thrilled with the actual massage, but wanted it to last longer. Well, DUH! Everyone wants a massage to last longer. I feel just as rushed with only an hour to work on people. I prefer to have an hour and a half or two hours. That really gives me time to work on everything and do a good job too. The rest of the day went without a hitch. Only one more day -- And it's Friday, so that means I get to wear jeans tomorrow to work! YES! -- then it's the weekend!!!

After work, I came home and gathered up our trash. I took it with me to burn at Mom and Dad's when I collected Dixie from Grandma Sara's Doggie Daycare. Other than that, the only thing I have done is load the dishwasher. I need to figure out something easy and quick for dinner -- It's really late, but we are hungry. Pizza sounds good. I'm going to try to get to bed again early today. I have a big day tomorrow. That's about all I have to share today -- 24 is just not enough hours to get everything done. I'll try write more tomorrow.   :^)

It's like a Cat on Acid

I would like to start today's post by saying that I dearly love my created-on-a-whim blog. It's such a great stress reliever for me. I really look forward to sharing my day, especially the funny bits -- It seems like something amusing is always happening. Sometimes, I have to work to keep up with it, but I think it's worth the effort. I may not have the most interesting life out there, but I sure do love it -- And there is nothing better than sharing my crazy life with the people I love!

As usual, Wednesdays are one of my busiest days of the week. The schedule for our morning patients was slower than pond water, so I worked on -- take a guess -- the filing cabinet project. I now have the first row of drawers done, which means there are 15 more drawers to go. That's sort of depressing when I think about it, but I should be able to get another drawer done tomorrow morning. Slow and steady wins this race! Because the schedule was so slow, Dr. Pete even helped me out some today. Thanks Pete!! You're the best!

My massage schedule this afternoon was BOOKED -- I'm noticing a trend here. I'm not complaining at all, but I didn't get near enough sleep last night, and my butt was dragging a little bit today. I plan on changing that for tomorrow -- I'm going to be in bed by 10:00 tonight -- No ifs, ands, or buts. I have 5 massages scheduled for each of the next 2 days, and I only have a couple openings left for next week! My guardian angel is sure sending people to see me, but I think that's why I love my job. How awesome is it to impact someone's life by taking away their pain? The rewards of being a massage therapist are incredible! This is 100%, hands down, EXACTLY what I was supposed to do with my life. I have got one heck of a guardian angel -- Ain't no doubt about that. I am one of only a very few people who can say that they truly, truly LOVE their job. Guardian Angel, you just keep sending them my way -- I'll take care of em!

After work, I made a quick trip to Mom's to pick up Dixie and deliver a few groceries I picked up for her today. I had to make ANOTHER run to Wal-Mart today for Band-Aids -- Stupid finger. Have you ever noticed that when you have something that hurts you will bump it on absolutely everything? I bet I hit my finger at least 2 dozen times today -- One time, I even broke it open, and it started bleeding again, which probably means that I should have gotten a stitch put in it, but it's too late now. Typing is murder -- I just don't use that finger if I can help it. When I was doing my massages, the lotion kept making it slippery, so I was fighting to keep the Band-Aid on -- That was very annoying. Finally, I made it to the end of the day. Man, I sure hope tomorrow goes better for my poor little finger.

Dixie got to visit with Cousin Annie at Grandma Sara's house today, so she was totally wiped out by the time we got home. I guess you really can have too much fun. Chuck, on the other hand, was left to entertain himself today -- And he was ready to PLAY when we got home. He bounced around the house like a ping pong ball for about an hour. Nothing was safe! He attacked Dixie, the "dot" on the fridge, my purse, Tim, the trash can, Me -- He even chased his tail (one of my favorite things in this world is watching that crazy cat chase his tail). He is now dead to the world on the back of the couch, but I actually feared for our safety there for a while. When he gets wound up, he is WOUND UP! It's like a cat on acid -- I have never tried acid, but it sounds like a bad deal. What kind of name is that for a drug anyway? Who would want to mess around with something called acid? They should have named it "chocolate"; everyone loves chocolate. The world would be a better place if everyone enjoyed a little chocolate now and then.

Wow, okay, back on topic now. I went off on a bit of a tangent there for a minute. I think it's time to wrap this up for the night. Tim and I both have an early day tomorrow, and that wonderful soft bed is calling my name. I can hear it, I swear. Tomorrow should be another wonderful, great day -- But, I'm soo ready for the weekend. After this busy week, I'm going to need some quality chill-out time to recover completely. I think that a good book is in order -- I'm still reading the second Outlander book, but it's over 800 pages, so it's taking a while. I have been so busy, I haven't even read much -- And that is a crying shame, because I love to read. I also have several sewing projects to work on this weekend. Dad has some jeans that I really, really need to get patched. I think he gave them to me before Christmas -- Yup, I'll get right on that. But, I need sleep first! Good night!   :^)

'Tis But A Flesh Wound

WHAT A DAY! This morning started out very ordinary, but as the day went on, things just kept getting more interesting. I worked on the filing cabinet system this morning -- Big Surprise, huh? After lunch and our staff meeting, I had a full afternoon of massages. My schedule is completely booked through the rest of the week! I really need to be in bed already so I'm not dragging butt the rest of the week, but I have been having too much fun this evening. My new phone came today, and I have spent the last 3 hours messing with it -- I have new ringtones and pictures downloaded. I could go nuts with it, but like I said, I need to be asleep already. I'm going to make a quick post, then hit the hay.

I finally broke down and called the repair shop about getting my poor, abused car fixed -- Remember the mailbox incident in January? That back corner needs a little love. Turns out, it was an expensive boo boo. I guess I'll have to be more careful -- But it's not like I did it on purpose. It's a good thing my schedule is so busy. These repairs are going to hurt the bank a little bit.

The other major thing that happened today (besides the fact that it's raining again), is that I sliced the tip of my finger open at work. All I was doing was moving wet sheets from the washer to the dryer -- Somehow, I caught my finger on something sharp and sliced a big chunk almost completely off. It's just barely hanging on. It really hurts to type actually, and it's sore when I bump it -- Not good. I need it to be able to work! Doing massages feels weird with a Band-Aid on your finger. I will suffer through, but I am going to have to make yet another trip to Wal-Mart tomorrow to get Neosporin Band-Aids. They work great, and hopefully it will heal up fast.

It is definitely time for bed now. Dixie made a skunk free trip outside to potty, and Chuck is already sacked out for the night. It's going to be a busy rest of the week, but it will be good. I can feel it!!  :^)

Third Time's the Charm

Does anyone actually like Mondays?? I only work a half day on Mondays, and I still dread them. It's just a complete bummer to go back to work after a good weekend.

The day started too early for my liking. Tim has still been having problems sleeping (No wonder -- His work schedule is ridiculous), so since he couldn't sleep, he went looking for turkeys this morning. Actually, he listened for them, but he didn't hear anything. It's a little early still, but turkey season is just around the corner. We bought a gobbler decoy while we were at Wal-Mart yesterday -- It was marked wrong, so we got a heck of a deal on it! I was going to take a picture of it to put on here, but it was dark by the time I got home tonight. Maybe I can get a picture uploaded tomorrow.

Tim and I took it easy this morning. He finally fell asleep about the time I headed through the shower to get ready for work. I ordered some new ballet flats for work last week, but they didn't come until Friday afternoon, so I gave them a try today. They are super cute, but they may take a little breaking in so that they don't rub on my feet. I had a pretty busy day today (3 1/2 hours of massage), then Sammie and I went out for Chinese. It was sort of last minute, but it sounded awesome, and we were starving. After Chinese (Crab Rangoon is our favorite -- YUM!), I had to make yet another trip to Wal-Mart. I think this is about the 3rd trip I have made this week -- Third time's the charm, I guess. I just needed to pick up the things that I forgot all the other times I went last week. I do believe that we are all stocked up on food and other stuff now. Good Lord, I hope so. I would really like to NOT see that place again for a while.

Tomorrow should be a great day! There is plenty to keep my busy at the front desk in the morning, and my massage schedule is looking good in the afternoon (I hope no one cancels on me). Other than that, I only have plans to clean the inside of my car and start on some Spring cleaning -- The key word there is "start". It will take more than one day to get my house as clean as I want it to be. Tim and I made some headway last night, but that's going to be a weekend project! I'll save that for a rainy day. There are too many other things to enjoy in life -- You shouldn't spend all your time cleaning. I would much rather have a HOME than a spotless house. I'm fighting a losing battle anyway. Have you met my pets??? And Tim?? He is not a neat freak by any definition, but I love him, Dixie, and Chuck anyway. I'd take a dirty house with them in it over an empty, clean house any day!

My new cell phone should be here tomorrow as well! I can't wait! I love, love, love my little orange phone, but I think it's time to upgrade. I have the waterproof, drop-proof, bulletproof, Glenna-proof military issue phone now, and it has been very good to me for 2 years! It has been kicked, whacked, dropped down stairs, even swimming in the bottom of a boat and it's still going strong, but it has started dropping calls and turning off on me. I am upgrading to a snazzy touch phone with a full keyboard, but not a smart phone. I don't want to feel like my phone is smarter than I am. What if it decides to rebel against me? I would be powerless to stop it! So, this new phone is going to teach me to be a little more gentle with technology, but I think it will be a nice phone. I ordered a pretty hard plastic case so that it will be protected from my clumsiness (It's sunflowers!!!). The best part about my new phone -- It was totally FREE!! Can't get any better than that!  :^D

That's What I Love About Sunday

I am almost ashamed to admit that Tim and I didn't do a gosh dang thing yesterday -- Nothing! No laundry, no house cleaning, nothing. We went to the Fish and Carry in the afternoon for a cheeseburger and a tenderloin. We also went to the grocery store, but that is the only time we left the house all day. Tim made popcorn shrimp for dinner, then we laid around some more. It really was a glorious day though! Sometimes, everybody just needs a lazy day to really enjoy life to the fullest. How can it be fun to be insanely busy all the time?

The plan for today is to work around the house a bit. I need to vacuum and do laundry; Tim is going to get some Sterlite tubs to store his hunting clothes. Right now, I'm making BBQ Chicken Wings for lunch and we are watching River Monsters. Dixie keeps bringing Tim toy after toy wanting to play -- She might be just a little bit spoiled. It's too nasty and cold outside to do much out there, so we will probably stay holed up inside where it's nice and warm. Sorry that there isn't much to write about today -- We just weren't that active yesterday.

Today is showing potential to be a great day too, (NASCAR!) -- Sounds like we are going to have a great weekend! Today can be summed up perfectly in the words of Craig Morgan -- That's What I Love About Sunday    :^)

Lazy Saturdays = AMAZING

Friday turned out to be a very busy day. I was beyond excited to be able to sleep in an hour, but my brain is trained to wake up at 6:30, so that's what I did. Tim and I watched re-runs of The A-Team instead of sleeping in. It's our morning ritual. I had a goose-egg on my noggin all day yesterday, because Dixie is an abusive pet. She likes to play fetch with herself, and throws a bone over her shoulder so she can go get it again. It's fine until she throws the bone, and it whacks me on the forehead. That's what happened yesterday when I was laying on the couch, minding my own business. Out of nowhere, a bone nails me! It didn't break the skin, but there is a red mark and it's still tender to the touch (Tim has bumped it twice now). Is is possible to file a charge of domestic violence against your pet??

Work yesterday was about average. I started at 9:00 (Carmin complained about the high gas prices for almost the whole hour, but they are getting pretty gosh darn ridiculous!) and my last one was at 11:00. I was supposed to have a massage at 12:00 too, but I guess she blew me off because she was a no-show. Oh well, her loss. After finishing up my massages, I worked on stuff in the office for a couple hours. Randi and I finally found time to swap massages in the afternoon because her schedule was pretty open. We don't get to do it very often, because our schedules are so busy, and we were a couple months overdue. It felt nice to be on the receiving end of a massage -- I think I need bribe Tim more often though because he is good at giving massages too.

Last night after work, we made a trip south to see Tim's parents and make a pit stop at Dave's Gun Shop. Tim needed to pick up a couple things from home to get ready for turkey hunting, and he bought a new handgun at Dave's. We spent an hour or two at Kim and Randy's (brats for dinner!!!), then headed back home for the evening. It was a late night, but it's always nice to sleep in our own bed. By the time I got home, I was ready to crash -- So that's why I'm writing today instead of yesterday.

We have done NOTHING productive today. Dixie and Chuck finished off the milk in the bottom of my cereal bowl this morning, and none of us have moved since then. I think I will try to get some laundry and such done later, but now, all I want to do is lay around. Sometimes, it's good to be lazy, especially after a busy week. I need to run to the grocery store sometime today -- Maybe I can talk Tim into getting Fish and Carry for dinner. He and Dixie are cuddled up on the couch together right now -- She is such a Daddy's Girl!

I just talked to my sibling for about an hour!! It is always so great to catch up with him. He is being just as lazy as the rest of us today -- Laying around, watching movies and listening to music. My phone was dying or else I would have kept on jabbering. I can't wait for the next time I get to see him -- There is nothing better! I'm so proud of that boy. He will always be my skinny, obnoxious little brother, but he has accomplished a lot in his life already. This is one proud big sister!   :^)

Gnomes and EOB's

Well, writing a post every day got shot in the foot again. My plan was to get a lot done last night after work, but I wound up staying too long at Mom's and falling asleep on the couch without getting much accomplished -- But I really needed the sleep and felt much better this morning. I'm going to try to go to bed early again tonight; I even get an extra hour of wonderful sleep because my first massage tomorrow morning isn't until 9:00.

Wednesdays at the office are my busiest days, and yesterday was no exception. We had a fairly busy morning at the front desk. There was a pretty steady stream of patients, but I still managed to get quite a bit of the filing cabinet project done. I am up to the 4th drawer now! Slow and steady -- That's my game plan.

My afternoon was BOOKED! I had 5 massages, which is probably why I was tired and fell asleep early last night. Henry, my Marine client (he reminds me so much of my Grandpa Jack), brought me a little gift when he came to see me yesterday. It is the cutest garden gnome figurine ever -- A short, fat Marine Drill Instructor with a big, white Santa Claus beard. He has a shotgun in his hands and patches on his knees. He is beyond adorable! Don't ya think??

After I finished up my massages and some office work, I headed home. After swinging by the house to pick up Dixie and change clothes, I went up to Mom's to deliver her dogfood. She goes through more dogfood than any person I know. I had meant to stay for just a few minutes, but wound up staying over an hour. I got some box fans to help dry out the basement (It's working!) and showed her my gnome from Henry. FINALLY, I made it home. I loaded up the dishwasher and ate a salad for dinner, then sat on the couch for a few minutes to digest. Before I knew it, I was waking up at 11:30 to move to the bed, but I slept like a baby and woke up feeling refreshed.

I spent most of this morning working on my filing cabinet project. I went into over-achiever mode again and came up with a system of keeping track of the EOB's (Explanation of Benefits -- It's insurance stuff that we keep in the patients' files). It is going to be a lot of extra work this year, but it will make the job exponentially easier next year, because I won't have to look in every file, just the ones that I need to. Sometimes, it's a good thing to be a little bit of an over achiever -- Just means that I'm working hard.

Once again, I had a busy afternoon (I have noticed a bit of a trend lately -- My people are taking care of me) and had a full afternoon scheduled after our staff meeting at 1:00. Turns out, my 5:00 appointment was battling a Urinary Tract Infection, and it would have been very uncomfortable if I had given her a massage, so I got done a little early today. I had Dr. Pete give me an adjustment and tried out our decompression table for the first time -- My neck feels so much better! I finished up a few things at the front desk, and I got my massage table ready for tomorrow so I'm ready to go as soon as I walk in the door. I met Tim in the parking lot before he went in to work -- Just had to get that kiss before I headed home. We chatted for a few minutes, which was nice because I really haven't seen him the last couple days. It's always great to see him, even if it's just for a minute or two. Night shift sucks!

Now, I am being lazy and sitting on our couch. It has taken me almost 2 hours to write this blog post. That's what I get I suppose when I go a couple days without writing anything -- I have to play catch up. Dixie and I ran a mile tonight (It's not that far, but I feel better and she had fun). I love this Spring weather. It inspires me to be productive. Now, if I could only get motivated to clean my house. I have a feeling that it's not going to get done tonight -- I am just about ready for bed. Chuck and Dixie are both sacked out on the couch with me -- Dixie is laying across my feet and legs, Chuck is sprawled on my stomach. I think we might migrate to the bed soon. Maybe I need a snack first -- resist -- resist -- resist! I just have to avoid looking at the fridge on my way to bed. Wish me luck! Thank the Good Lord that tomorrow is Friday. I love Friday!  :^)

Chuck, Why Can't You Be Normal?

Yesterday, I had a nice and easy day. My first massage was at 1:00, so I spent the morning piddling around the house and catching up on Law and Order: Criminal Intent. Turns out, I only had three massages so I was technically done at 4:00! I wound up sticking around and helping out in the office while I waited on Dr. Pete to get enough free time between patients to give me an adjustment. My muscles are still pretty sore from volleyball this weekend, and an adjustment was just what I needed -- Actually I really need a massage myself, but it doesn't work in our schedule for Randi to give me one. However, I am feeling much better today!

The drying out process of the basement is going extremely well, I think. The carpet is almost completely dry! I'm just hoping that the floor underneath dries out quickly as well. I have Mom's dehumidifier running now as well, so that should help too. The propane heater has been awesome for drying, except that it makes the whole house extremely HOT! We haven't run the furnace in a couple days. Mom is going to be bringing over a couple box fans today to help. The situation looks promising -- Maybe we won't have to tear up the floor after all.

After work, I made a quick trip to Wal-Mart to pick up some things -- Chuck was really thankful for some more cat food and cat litter since his was ruined in the flood. I thought that he might explode while I was trying to pour him some food. He was meowing frantically while waiting on me -- Sorry buddy, I was going as fast as I could! Chuck also rediscovered the "spot" on the fridge last night. He went through a stage at the end of last year where he was constantly attacking the fridge. There is a small circle (at about knee height) that covers a screw head or something -- All I know is that it is his mortal enemy. We would hear him jumping up and down at all hours of the day and night. I don't really know why he stopped, but he found it again last night. He has grown enough that he doesn't have to jump to get it now, but he can stand on his hind legs and chew on it -- Oh Lord, why can't we have a normal cat? Actually, I really love our weird little feline. He sure does make life interesting! You never know what he is going to get into, and he and Dixie are best friends. She would be totally lost without him.

We had lamb brats and waffle fries for dinner last night -- And they were delicious! Thank you Tim for cooking for us! We got a Netflix movie in the mail yesterday, and I usually try to make sure that when Tim is going to be home that it's something that we will both enjoy watching -- But I forgot to double check this time -- Despicable Me is not really Tim's type of movie, but I thought it was adorable! I will have to make sure that next time we watch a Shoot 'Em Up, Bang kind of movie. After the movie, it was my bedtime. Tim slept yesterday since he worked all weekend, so he was up all night. He kept himself occupied with the guitar that he bought a couple weeks ago; he is trying to teach himself to play. He was still up when I left home this morning, but he should be able to get a good nap in today and maybe sleep like a normal person tonight.

My work day has been great so far. The phone rang like crazy this morning (which is good for business), I did a load of sheets, fertilized the ferns, and worked on the filing cabinet project. My afternoon is almost completely booked up with massages as well -- I only have a half hour open, and I'm pretty sure that it won't be open for long. Should make for a busy day. I'm making enchiladas for dinner tonight, and who knows what Tim and I will get into. I really need to tidy up the house, but I feel like that will take a back burner to spending time with Tim. I have a busy day planned for tomorrow as well, so I plan on making it an early night. Gotta get that beauty sleep!   :^)
